- The HUGO Award Nominations, which are typically announced in January, have been delayed.
- The ALA Youth Media Awards were presented. Mariama J. Lockington received the Schneider Family Book Award in the Young Adult category for her book FOREVER IS NOW. Jade Adia received the Coretta Scott King – John Steptoe New Talent Award for her book, THERE GOES THE NEIGHBORHOOD. Ibi Zoboi received the Coretta Scott King Book Award for Author for NIGERIA JONES. Honored for the Michael L. Printz Award were Shannon Gibney for THE GIRL I AM, WAS, AND NEVER WILL BE and Candice Iloh for SALT THE WATER. The The Odyssey Award Young Adult Honor went to PROMISE BOYS by Nick Brooks, which was narrated by a full cast.
- The 2024 Walter Award Winners for Youth Literature were announced. Hannah V. Sawyerr is a 2024 Honoree for her debut, ALL THE FIGHTING PARTS.
